In Hamilton, YOU make a difference!
The annual Hamilton Employment Crawl (HEC) takes place on May 1 and 2, 2013. A partnership between the City of Hamilton and McMaster University, the Crawl gives McMaster students an opportunity to explore the Hamilton labour market and discover some of the city's hidden gems such as its heritage and vibrant arts and cultural scene.
This year, four Employment Crawls will be offered over a two-day period. Students are encouraged to register for the Crawl that best suits their career interests. If you would like to attend HEC on both dates you must register individually for each one.

Overview
Students participating in the Hamilton Employment Crawl will enjoy the following activities:
- Five company visits (tours) to local Hamilton businesses
- Guided city tour
- Boxed lunch provided by Pita Pit
- Free time in one of Hamilton's hotspots
- Networking Reception with employer participants at the Scottish Rite Club.
Participants on the Crawl will visit five business throughout the tour. Organizations will present information about their company, discuss growth potential within their sector and give tours of their facility/workspace (if applicable). Some participating employers are hiring!
Designated buses will transport HEC participants to the various locations included in the tour.
Individuals participating in the tours on May 1 and 2 will be picked up at the Ivor Wynne Centre round-about. Start and end times for the tours will differ on each day depending on the schedule of activities. Please review the registration tab for further tour details, the event schedule and registration information. If you would like to attend HEC on both dates, please notify us when registering.
A $10 deposit (cash only) is required to reserve your spot on the Crawl. Seating is limited. A full refund will be provided to participants at the end of each day.
Registration
Registration is limited to 150 students (approximately 37 students per tour). You must register on OSCARplus then pay the $10 registration deposit (cash only) for each tour at the Student Success Centre, Gilmour Hall 110 in order to secure your spot. A brief overview will be provided at that time.
Online registration opens: March 27, 2013
Both tours will depart at the same time from Ivor Wynne Centre round-about; Students are required to Check In with their students card in Gilmour Hall Room110 between 8:15am & 8:30am then are required to proceed to the Ivor Wynne Centre(IWC). Tours will depart promptly; those late or not at the tour pick-up and drop-off points at the scheduled times will be required to find their own transportation to the next stop on the Crawl at their own expense.
Guided City Tour
Participants will enjoy a boxed lunch provided by Pita Pit while they are driven around the city on a guided tour of Downtown Hamilton's Growth Centre and surrounding neighbourhoods. Part of this tour includes an opportunity to get off the bus and explore local shops, restaurants and relaxation spots.

Networking Reception
Students attending the Crawl are eligible to attend the Networking Reception at the Scottish Rite Club located at 4 Queen Street South in downtown Hamilton. Transportation to the Networking Reception will be provided but participants will be required to find their own transportation home after the event. Please register for this event when you pay your deposit.
Take advantage of this opportunity to network and mingle with company representatives and young professionals. Drinks and appetizers will be served.
