This year for the Academic Skills Writing Contest, we want to know what “potential” means to you in 2–200 words.

How it works

  1. Compose a creative piece of poetry, prose or any type of written content that addresses the “potential” theme in 2–200 words.
  2. Email your submission to skills@mcmaster.ca with the subject line, “2022 Writing Contest.” Remember to include your full name in the submission email.
  3. We evaluate submissions based on creativity, structure and language.
  4. Find out if you’re a winner by mid-March. Good luck!
