Get empowered to take control of your finances

This year’s theme is all about affordability and understanding how finances impact your overall wellness. Join us for a month of featured events and programming, resource-sharing and meaningful conversations to boost your financial literacy. Our goal is to empower you to make informed, confident financial decisions — from budgeting, saving and financial planning to credit, debt, taxes, investing and more.

Attend events for a chance to win $100

The more events you attend, the better your chances of winning 1 of 10 $100 prizes. Building on this year’s focus on affordability, winners will receive $100 to their student accounts for deposit into their bank. Use it for groceries, hanging out with friends or put it away for another day — the choice is yours.

Free tax support! Reduce stress this tax season with help from Mac’s Money Centre

Did you know that, as a student, you’re likely to get money back by filing your taxes? Each year, Mac’s Money Centre and campus and community partners come together to support the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). Through this program, we offer free tax services for McMaster students and eligible Hamilton/surrounding area community members.

Need help filing previous tax returns? No problem. We can help with tax returns for previous years (up to 10 years).

The deadline to submit taxes to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is April 30.

It’s a secure online platform where you can access information on your taxes, credits and benefits.
