Sometimes it’s nice to find some distraction and sometimes it’s nice to do that while tasting wine. So, whether you’re looking for a way to beat the February blues or just something fun to do, this list is for you:
Visit the Gage Park Greenhouse (or the McMaster Greenhouse)
What better way to escape the cold harsh reality of the winter season than by visiting a lovely greenhouse. The Gage Park greenhouse offers over 18,000 square feet of beautiful flowers and plants that are grown all year round.
If you don’t fancy traveling too far, don’t fret! Although a bit smaller, McMaster’s very own greenhouse is a must-visit. Enjoy the warm temperatures while browsing through some truly beautiful green life.
Ice skating at Pier 8
I know I’ve mentioned ice-skating before, but who doesn’t like a good skate? It doesn’t matter if you’re an amateur or pro, round up your best buddies and make a night out of it. It’s a fun and exciting way to distract yourself from academic life.
Visit a Frozen Waterfall
Do you even live in Hamilton if you haven’t snapped a pic at one of Hamilton’s many waterfalls? Don’t be afraid to join the bandwagon! Prepare for a small hike and make sure to bundle up before you head out because the frozen waterfalls are truly a sight to see. I suggest visiting Tiffany, Webster, or Chedoke Falls.
Visit the Hamilton Art Gallery
I know it might sound boring, but Art Galleries are actually pretty cool. Open your mind and let the art flow through you. There a few interesting exhibits coming up that I think would be worth a trip down to the heart of Hamilton. Visit a nice café for lunch and hit the Hamilton Art Gallery for dessert.
Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park
Okay this one is definitely more fun than the Art Gallery and Greenhouse (although they are solid attractions). Equipped with 30 trampolines, there are 19 different attractions that are sure to excite you. Be it slack lining, rock climbing, laser maze, dodgeball, or jumping into foam pits, the world’s largest indoor trampoline park has got something for you.
