Stories From The Arch

Personal Sign Off

I have listened to so many motivational speeches, but this one really got me. Shonda Rimes, the director and writer behind Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder speaks about the challenges and happiness that has given her life meaning. While she speaks about her career and her life as a parent, it relates so heavily to the struggles we face while at university.

We can all become our best selves by giving 110% to our work, but without making time for our passions and those we care for, we lose meaning in our lives. So while you’re at McMaster getting your study on, or just starting out in the work world trying so hard to make it big, remember to take the time to live your life, and be with the people who make you happy.

I challenge you to find your “hum”.
