Faculty Night

Faculty society night is a chance to socialize with new friends and classmates. Each Faculty society does something different, so check back throughout the summer to find out what your Faculty is doing and ask your Welcome Week reps for more information!

6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Meet at Camp Artsci (in front of McMaster Museum of Art). Together, you will travel via HSR, at the Main St. bus towards Dundas.

Join ArtSci for a night in the park! Connect with your fellow Arts & Science students at a relaxing evening packed with classic Artsci bonding activities. From crafts to sports to music, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Dinner will be provided.

7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Meet in DeGroote School of Business (DSB). There will be school bus rotations, with pick-up at 6:20 p.m. and drop-off at 10:20 p.m.

First-years and Greensuits will be travelling via bus to a beautiful, modern, and spacious venue in bustling downtown Hamilton. Various different activities will be available in a come-as-you-please fashion. Also, of course, lots of food will be provided!

The activities include:

  • DJ and dance floor
  • Casino tables
  • Board games
  • Video games
  • Photobooth
  • Improv comedy show
  • Silent auction
  • Make your own sundae bar

3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Meet at John Hodgins Engineering (JHE) Annex. There will be school bus rotations from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

A favourite of the week, Faculty Night, is held from noon until dark and is a combination of a barbecue, carnival games, concert, and campfire. Located off-campus at a local conservation area, students come and go as they please on shuttle buses from McMaster. Activities include inflatables, sports, live music, a live comedy act, a campfire, and lots of food and snacks. All these great components make Faculty Night one of the most popular events of the week.

To make your way to a night filled with friends and excitement, our reps will be picking students up on and off-campus starting at 3:00 p.m. We will be having busses going back and forth from the venue all afternoon, so if you want to join us a little later, come to JHE Lobby anytime before 7:00 p.m.

4:00 p.m. – 11:45 p.m.

Winona Vine Estates. There will be school bus rotations at the Hamilton Hall loop. Pick-up at 4:00 p.m. and drop-off at 10:20 p.m.

Bond with your 2023 BHSc family at a night filled with dancing, food, games and a secret, special ceremony. This event is a perfect way to meet your classmates and includes both high and low energy activities!

7:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. (some buses at 6:45 p.m.)

Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology. There will be school bus rotations at the Togo Salmon Hall (TSH) Stairwell. Pick-up starts at 6:45 p.m.

Come out with the Humanities reps to Hamilton’s historic Museum of Steam and Technology. Get cozied up and watch “The Shape of Water” filmed here in our very city! Or enjoy playing various games and get to know your upper year classmates.

A food truck dinner will be provided by True North BBQ. Vegetarian and vegan options available. All students welcome!

7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Burke Science Building (BSB) Field

It will be an exciting carnival-themed night with inflatable games, popcorn machines, a photo booth, and a pie eating contest! Make sure you bring a water bottle and maybe a sweater if it cools off at night!

7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

John Hodgins Engineering (JHE) Field

Come join us for a glow-in-the-Dark themed night, on JHE field at 7:00 p.m. Starting at 7:30 p.m., dinner will be provided by Doughbox to the first 1000 people, so come early! We will have a live band, a large outdoor movie theatre, games, sports, a photo booth and more!

6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Cameron’s Speedway. There will be school bus rotations at the McMaster University Student Centre (MUSC) Atrium. Pick-up starts at 7:00 p.m. and drop-off at 11:00 p.m.

Faculty night is a tradition for the Social Sciences at McMaster. We will be taking school busses to Cameron’s Speedway which is located up the Mountain in Hamilton. There will be go karting, high ropes, rock climbing, bubble soccer, board games, plating flowers and pot painting, and more!

Faculty Hollow

The Nursing Welcome Week Reps invite you to attend an evening of festivities within the beautiful Faculty Hollow. Get glammed up and bring out flowery outfits! There will be live music, food, prizes, auctions, a photo booth and a variety of activities for you to enjoy! Come hang out and rock out with us at this week’s biggest Nursing Welcome Week event! Get ready to make memories as you get to know more about your future profession and meet life-long friends!
