The MELD office offers four distinct programs, ranging from the Summer Transition through English Prep (STEP) program for students before they begin their undergraduate studies, to the McMaster English Readiness for Graduate Excellence (MERGE) program that supports current and prospective graduate students.

McMaster Office for the Development of English Language Learners (MODEL)

The McMaster Office for the Development of English Language Learners (MODEL) is one of four programs offered by the McMaster English Language Development (MELD) office. Student Accessibility Services (SAS)

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) aims to help students with disabilities meet their goals through full participation, independence, empowerment and equality. They provide academic accommodations and related supports for students with disabilities at McMaster and offer support beginning with the transition from high school to university, through graduate and continuing studies.

Missed Academic Work (MSAF)

In instances of a missed academic deadline or assessment, students may request a McMaster Student Absence Form (MSAF). An MSAF should be used when a student must miss course work due to illness, dealing with an emergency, or situations where they are otherwise unable to complete course work. There are two types of MSAFs: a self-report MSAF filed through Mosaic and an administrative report MSAF filed through individual Faculty or Program offices.
